Our Vision
Equip Those Whom God Has Called for
Expository Bible Ministry in Zambia
In this video, Andrew Muwowo, founder of Proclamation Zambia talks more about the vision for this project.
Our vision is to equip those whom God has called for expository Bible ministry in Zambia. Our aim is to establish a college in order to train preachers that will grow churches. Alongside this, the college teaches Bible handling skills to men and women who want to learn more about how to faithfully teach from God’s word in different contexts.
We hold an annual preaching conference at the Bible College that models biblical expository preaching. |

How It All Began
Founder of Proclamation Zambia

During my time as one of the elders and later as pastor of Kitwe Chapel in Zambia, the Lord helped us to plant five churches within Kitwe and one about 150 kilometres away. The elders, who were mostly from the mother church, initially oversaw the work before two of the churches found pastors. However the challenges we faced in finding a pastor for the out-of-town church plant brought about a particular desire within me. My passion was to one day set up a theological training institute that would train men in preaching for church planting work in Zambia and beyond. |
The biblical mandate for us to raise up a new generation of faithful Bible teachers
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
(2 Timothy 2:15)
(2 Timothy 2:15)
“The vision for Proclamation Zambia is not only a vision for Zambia, but it is a vision for Africa. Training men and women for ministry is the most strategic endeavour that we can ever venture into. There are many churches that are being planted, but very few trained men and women to help grow those churches.” – Dr Lazarus Phiri
Doctrinal Basics

"I have no doubt that the greatest need of the hour in Zambia and right across Africa is biblical preaching. It is this preaching that will keep the light of the true gospel shining in this dark place and it is this preaching that will bring true spiritual depth to believers. Since the stated goal of Proclamation Zambia is to train preachers to preach God's word faithfully, it is a most welcome initiative that is well worth our support." – Dr Conrad Mbewe

"PIZ seems to me absolutely crucial to get Zambian preachers who are really clear on the gospel and really clear on how to handle the Bible." - Nigel Styles
Looking Ahead
In order to achieve our vision, to equip those whom God has called for expository ministry in Zambia, we aim to establish the Bible college so that it provides increasingly excellent training of pastors, church planters and others to preach the Word of God accurately and passionately. We believe that this will be strategic in strengthening, growing and planting new churches across Zambia and beyond. The work of the college is increasingly supplemented with other ministry including an annual conference to encourage and equip ministers of the gospel and conferences for alumni of the college and others to continue to encourage and strengthen them in their work.

PIZ has been blessed with a gift of land on which it has a small farm to help feed the staff and students. The PIZ Board are looking into ways of using the land to provide long term self funding.
In the future we hope that the college can expand to provide for more students each year and eventually provide a conference centre for the use of local churches and other Christian organisations. The video shows the site in April 2021. |
