Firstly, I am grateful to God for keeping me safe and for making it possible for me to complete my course in higher certificate in theology at GWC in Capetown, SA.
Secondly, I appreciate the lord for the people who sponsored me financially and through prayer, I am forever grateful for your support. I had applied for a bachelor's of theology program last year and am very excited that my application for a 3 years BTH program was considered. I do appreciate the PIZ team and family for their support and encouragement . Prayer points: 1.For God to protect and preserve every family in these times of the pandemic we are in. 2. To raise people who will help and support me in my theological training. |
3. To find a word based ministry I can work with and be committed to it.
4. For the lord to make way for the ministry after completing my studies at GWC 5.The lord to bless those that have supported me financially and through prayer and also for those who haven't, pray that the lord blesses them as well and keep their families safe. 6.Pray that the lord raises more people who will preach his word faithfully. Thank you for your support, Every blessings." |
Joshua Muwowo"After finishing at PIZ, I was seconded to Lufwanyama Missions Ministry, by Kalulushi Central Baptist Church. Here I preached to pupils in a boarding school. I did this for a year. It was helpful to have a year of applying what I had learned at PIZ. Apart from preaching at the boarding school, I applied to George Whitefield Bible College in South Africa, with the hope of furthering my studies in Theology. By God's grace that is where I am studying now.
Please pray for me concerning my studies and my future Ministry. I hope to get involved in youth work in Zambia." |

"Having trained at PIZ has helped me a lot in my expository preaching. I have come to understand and appreciate how to do exegesis ( bringing out the big idea of the text which becomes the Theme), and then the homiletics (the art of preaching or writing sermons). And in homiletics, to remain faithful to the text by understanding what the text meant to them, then apply it to us all now. This helped me greatly by improving my sermon delivery.
In Mission, we learned so much that this has fired up the passion in me for Evangelism. My desire is for our church to be planting more and more churches. We are very excited to see God's faithfulness in providing funds through two partners in the UK as we put up our main church building. It is now at the roof level. I think this could be our prayer request that God may continue using His people to support this work. Also, pray for Spiritual growth and Commitment in all of us in our Church." |
Kelvin is the Lead Pastor at Garneton East Faith Baptist Church. He is married to Neil and they have 4 children who are active in the church, leading prayers, teaching Sunday School, and singing in the choir.
He has also helped with different 'builds' at PIZ. Kelvin has Brian Bwalya (another PIZ graduate), as his assistant pastor.

Brian Bwayla
After PIZ Brian went to Kabwata Baptist church in Lusaka to do a year of internship training.
He is now serving as an Assistant/Youth Pastor at Faith Baptist Church, Kitwe. This is the church which Pastor Kelvin, another 2018 PIZ graduate is pastoring. Mainly his role at church is preaching and he also helps in youth ministry and leadership responsibilities. Brian left Kasama, Shalom Baptist Church in October 2020 where he had been serving and doing a radio ministry. Brian grows his own vegetables and rears broilers for his livelihood. He married Sonta on the 17th of October 2020, who he met at PIZ. Watch the video below to hear more from Brian, October 2022

Essay Kamocha“Greetings to PIZ and the church family, particularly in the UK.
I am currently pastoring the Chibuluma Evangelical church in Kalulushi town. Due to covid 19 restrictions we had to send evangelistic messages through WhatsApp and Facebook as we were told to reduce number of attendees per service. Our church membership stands at 355." Essay has been doing a series in expository teaching on discipleship and mission (October 2020). The teachings took place in church every Sunday. This was to revive the ministry of discipleship, and to make disciples for Christ in the church. He says, 'It was exciting and very rich for our congregation because this year our theme is Revival.' |
In 2021 the church's theme for the year was 'Missions and Evangelism'.

In 2018 and 2019 the church was blessed with several people obeying the Lord in the waters of baptism (pictured below)
These are Essay's prayer requests:
1. Pray for the church that may God open his windows of heavenly blessing and also give the members open eyes and hearts to the light of the Gospel of Christ Jesus.
2. Pray for me as I labour, to have effective ministry and guidance.
3. Pray for our church projects so that God may provide so that we can finish them.
4. That our own school going children can continue with their education due to the fact that as parents money has been a problem to pay for the education from the small allowance we get from the church per month. K1,500 Zambian Kwacha equivalent to 79 English pounds.
5. We need spiritual books, any old or new, please pray for donations of these to come.
May the good Lord richly bless you and all (especially in the UK), who kindly sponsored our training at PIZ.”

“My full names are Prince Moses Banda, former PIZ student of 2018. While studying at PIZ, I also served as Vice-Chair for student affairs and Driver / Agriculturist.
When I graduated from PIZ, I went to my mother's Church in the capital of Zambia, Lusaka, where I served as a youth/assistant pastor. While in Lusaka I did a Short course in sign language because I love Deaf people and have a passion to work among them.
In September 2019, I was ordained as a Reverend, and I was sent to plant a church in a rural area, in Samfya district, Luapula Province (northern Zambia ). I have been preaching to Deaf people since.
I have also had the privilege of being the guest preacher to a very large group of people, where the Vice President of Zambia, was the Guest of Honour.
I am a scout leader on the National Level, a sign language interpreter, a driver, and an Agriculturist. Currently, I am studying Psychosocial Counselling and Assistant Nursing.
Survival on a daily basis is not easy here. I am far away from my family and home. Our church can't manage to support me in any way because of lacking in a lot of areas. I give God, who has remained faithful to me, the praise and glory. Despite not getting paid by the church, I eat and survive by the Grace of the Lord Jesus every day.
I am praying that the Lord may one day link me to people who love the Deaf and can commit to supporting our program. My hope and plan are to start teaching them Agricultural and other skills for their survival. It is not easy for a Deaf person to survive here; without any job or skill. My challenge in all these plans is financial.

Jacob NyirendaJacob was a Sunday School Teacher but has recently moved to another church. He says:
“I felt led of the LORD to do so. And I have just joined the choir at my new church. Most church programs have been suspended due to the pandemic, but the youth group has resumed. Youth work is where my passion lies but I am concentrating on settling down first before I can fully get involved. So currently there isn't much happening because I'm new here.” |
Jairus Chirwa"Hi. My testimony is a brief one. After PIZ I faced some challenges. The teaching from PIZ was biblical and I give God the glory. All in all I count it all joy because the good LORD, in His mercy, did not neglect me in the difficulties I faced. I thought it worthwhile that you learn not only about the low but the high points as well of my experiences. And how I was encouraged to count everything as all joy.
I was very happy when I joined a new church called Mercy Seek Ye Ministries, a church which was started five years ago. At the time of my joining them, they were in the process of planting another church. It was my privilege to be involved in successfully planting that new church in Mufulira. The commissioning of this work was in October, 2019. It is growing numerically through people getting saved. By the grace of God I am with the main church serving as an Assistant Pastor there. My prayer is that God through the Holy Spirit, would help us to grow this work to His glory. I am sorry I do not have photos to send. I hope this short note gives you some information that will help you as you continue praying for us.” |

Life After PIZ, I was involved with Faith Baptist Church, Garneton East Church in Kitwe. The photos are me helping out with Sunday School and Awana club. From there I relocated to Mumbwa, where I found employment. Due to COVid there have been no meetings for children.
