GIVE THANKS FOR THE GRADUATION CEREMONY THAT TOOK PLACE ON THE 13TH NOVEMBER 2020
The guest of honour was Dr Henry Mugala, an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Wusakili Mine Hospital. Henry is an elder at Kitwe Chapel. The guest of honour’s speech centred on man’s greatest need and that is salvation by grace alone, faith alone and Christ alone. Using the scripture in Isaiah 6:1; “ in the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting on a throne…”. With the Covid19 pandemic in 2020, one thing is certain, God is on the throne. Behind all the masks, there is sin, hopelessness and helplessness. The Gospel of Christ is the power of God to salvation of everyone who believes. The Graduates should preach the Gospel.
Tryson Mtonga, the acting principal gave his charge to the students by these recommendations; (i) Graduates to remain teachable (ii) Graduates to be close to their God. (iii) To faithfully serve the Lord. (iv) And to use their gifts in their church
The board chairman, Kelvin Samwata, challenged the graduates to share their lives with those they share the Gospel with. Kelvin also encouraged the students to do further studies.
Chris Hawthorne, the Principal, sent a message from the UK which was read by Andy Symons. Chris’ message came from the same passage as my own, 2 Tim 2. Graduates need to pass on what they have learnt, whatever their circumstances.
It was a colourful ceremony as usual.
